Are you a woman in midlife?  Then you need to hear this!  Midlife is a pivotal life transition that sets the stage for our elder years.  And we have a complex set of challenges to navigate in these years!  Menopause, aging parents, launching kids . . . just to name a few!  But when we apply faith in God and a bit of practical knowledge to the changes, challenges, and choices of midlife, we can really thrive in this transformational stage of life!

Are you waiting on an answer?  At many points in life, we find ourselves in a holding pattern, waiting on God to reveal what comes next in our lives.  But waiting and uncertainty doesn't always bring out the best in us! Sometimes we experience stress and anxiety, but when we find strength in God and His Word, He can change our waiting time into a spiritual growing season!  The unknowns are God-given opportunities to magnify Christ by living faithfully and purposefully.

There are times in life where it seems NOTHING is going right.  Whether it's family issues, health issues, career issues, or marriage issues, when life gets impossibly hard it's tempting to get disgruntled.  But the author of Hebrews suggests that we look at life's challenges from a different perspective.  What if they aren't tragedies . . . what if they are actually the training ground for triumph?  God promises us victory in life when we walk with Him through the hard times, and the good news is that through Jesus, we have already won!

We may not like it, but suffering is an inescapable part of the human experience.  When suffering comes our way, we can fight it, we can ignore it, or we can use it to re-orient our hearts toward God.  When I was diagnosed with my second cancer, a rare form of leukemia, God impressed on my heart that I should not waste the time spent in the hospital and going through chemotherapy.  In this talk, I share my story and lessons learned going through cancer treatments, and how the experience has changed my life and perspective for the better.
